Cass County Drug Enforcement Team announces that on Friday, Oct. 23, three subjects were arrested in connection with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
On the morning of the 23rd, CCDET detectives began conducting an investigation into subjects who were attempting to procure components to manufacture methamphetamine across multiple counties, including Cass.
With assistance from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office road patrol and Cassopolis Village Police, one adult male subject was arrested in the Village of Cassopolis while in possession of suspected methamphetamine and components to manufacture methamphetamine.
Another adult male subject was placed under arrest near the intersection of Crooked Creek and Brownsville Road.
The subject was arrested for maintaining a meth lab in a residence, an outstanding felony warrant for dangerous drugs, a criminal bench warrant for failure to appear on a charge for dangerous drugs and a criminal bench warrant for contempt of court.
CCDET detectives conducted a search of a residence on Crooked Creek Road near Brownsville Road.
During that search detectives located a dismantled methamphetamine lab.
A third adult male subject was apprehended on a traffic stop by CCDET and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office road patrol.
The third subject was also found to be in possession of components to manufacture methamphetamine.
The third subject was arrested for maintaining a methamphetamine lab in a residence, maintaining a drug house, possession of a dangerous weapon, driving with a suspended license and an outstanding two-count felony warrant for maintaining a methamphetamine lab.
All three adult male suspects were lodged at the Cass County Jail in Cassopolis.
Three juvenile children were present living at the residence where the methamphetamine lab was found.
The Department of Human Services Child Protective Services division was contacted by investigators and came to the residence on Crooked Creek Road.
This matter remains under investigation.
Further charges may be requested from the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office.
