Sister Lakes says ’bye to dear friend

To the editor:

As the year draws to a close and we reflect on all our blessings of the year it stirs within us a desire to make the New Year even more memorable.
It is hard not to focus on the uncertainty of the future.
Those of us at Sister Lakes are counting our losses as we’ve had to say “goodbye” to a dear friend, the Sister Lakes Ambulance Service.
We must not let the feelings of uncertainty of the future overshadow the memories and grateful feelings that we have for our neighbors and friends who have served so faithfully.
How can we thank those who have given so unselfishly of themselves to be there in our greatest time of need?
It is with a sad and heavy heart as we think of the possible demise of this faithful friend and it  deserves, concentrated effort and action, more than just a casual word or two.
It is our sincere and earnest desire that a flood of public support will rise to a level which will reinstate in the very near future the faithful Sister Lakes Ambulance Service which we have known and depended  upon for so many years and who know us and our community so well.
It is difficult to understand why some in positions of authority and power have worked so diligently to kill this loyal service.
We feel disappointed and betrayed by those elected to provide the best guidance and service for the community.
Perhaps they should be the ones replaced and retired or find another occupation.
